About Reigning Cats & Dogs
It's
probably no surprise that the owners and employees of Reigning Cats & Dogs
are all animal lovers.
Owner Paula Brown, for example, owns three dogs and three cats. Tucker, a bloodhound, is probably best known, since he's the store's "spokesdog." Jasmine and Magic are registered Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers. Then there's Foxy, the black and white resident cat at their Wells store.

Customers First
Remember the guy on TV who liked the electric shaver so much, he bought the company? Paula and co-owner Jason Perkins (left) were customers of Reigning Cats & Dogs long before they became owners. "With three dogs," they joke, "We thought it would be a cheaper way to support our habit."
Paula and Jason purchased the Kennebunk store in September, 2001, and opened the Wells store in May, 2004.
Jason and Paula are both native Mainers. Jason is also a (retired) chili king. For 3 years in a row his chili won the "People's Choice Award" at the Maine State Chili Cook-off. But now he's retired from competition, and devotes all his time to Reigning Cats & Dogs.
